Garnier Skin Renew Clinical Dark Spot Corrector

I just started using Garnier's new Skin Renew Clinical Spot Corrector a few days ago so I can't really say I've seen any changes.  I've got some spots on my cheekbones that I'd like to lighten.

The texture is light and creamy and there is a strong nice scent to it that disappears later on in the day.  I'll update in a month or so on the status of my spots.

In the meantime, Redbook Magazine and Garnier is offering a free scarf if you mail in your receipt to them by the end of November.  Here's the address:  Redbook, 300 West 57th Street, 22nd Floor, New York, NY 10019. Attn: Garnier.

Yes to Cucumber Facial Towelettes

It's Halloween and you know what?  After all that partying and trick-or-treating, you'll need something to remove all that makeup off your face.  A facial towelette would work perfect!  It's quick and you don't have to rinse!!  I mean c'mon, you're gonna be so tired from all that fun and you'll just want to crash on that soft cushy pillow of yours.

Okay, I just thought of that as I was getting ready to review a new facial towelette I've been using.  But, so true.  So, you might as well invest in some if you haven't already.

Anyway, a couple of months back, I decided to try Yes to Cucumber Facial Towelettes.  I've been using Olay's original towelettes for a couple of years but after trying Yes's towlettes, I think I'm hooked.  I love the texture of the towelettes and how my face feels when I wake up the next morning.  What I don't like is the scent.  It doesn't smell like cucumber at all.  At first I had to hold my breath to use these wipes but I've gotten used to it.  If only it smelled like the Olay towelettes, then all would be perfect!

Essie Mamba

It's been awhile since I purchased nail polish.  I rarely wear nail polish anymore because I just don't have the time to remove the old polish!  I love putting on polish though.  Anyway, here is a new one I just bought a couple of days ago.  It's called Mamba and it's by Essie.

It's a subtle peach brownish color.  It goes great with everything!

Mini Hauls: Sephora and Bobbi Brown

Sephora Mini Haul:

1. Escada Taj Sunset Eau de Toilette delux mini (this was free with the Sephora purchase) - A sweet summery scent.  I love it and have worn it since I got it.  I will be getting the full size once I am done with this!

2. L'Occitane Cleansing & Soothing Shower Oil With Almond Oil - smells really nice.

3. Tweezerman Slant Tweezer in Red - I was in desperate need of a new tweezer.  I'm loving the red color!

4. Fairydrops Scandal Queen Mascara in Black -  This mascara is awesome!  After a full day of wearing it, my lashes stayed curled and defined.  I am impressed.

Bobbi Brown Mini Haul:

I've had these items for a few weeks now.  I just wasn't able to review them until now.

In Boxes
Opened
1. Bobbi Brown Beach Eau de Parfum - This is a very nice summery scent.  I've only worn it a few times but it really makes me think of the beach.

2. SPF 15 Tinted Moisturizer Oil Free - I've tried a few other tinted moisturizers (can't remember them but the last one was from Clinique) and I think this one ranks pretty high.  It's very light coverage but it's exactly what I was looking for, for the summer.

3. Sheer Finish Pressed Powder - I'm really liking this.  My last face powder was from MAC but for some reason the MAC powder was too thick.  This one is pretty sheer as its name says.  It's great for touch ups and doesn't make me look like I just powdered my face.

4. Rich Lipcolor SPF 12 (in Coral) - This is an okay lipstick.  I thought for some reason it'd be a bit more sheer but it isn't.  I like wearing a pinkish lipgloss over this since the coral is just a tad too orangy for me.

5.  The two small compacts were free with the order.  One is for eyes and one is for lips.

I wear the third from right color and the farthest right color every day.  I also use the farthest right color as an eyebrow liner.  This is a very beautiful set of colors that could be worn for day and night.

This lipstick palette is gorgeous!  I like them all but my favorites are the three farthest right.  I've worn these just about every day as well.  This is a wonderful combo.

I also purchased two NARS lipsticks too but I've already worn them a few times so I won't be reviewing them. I'll say though, that they are the best lipsticks I've worn since Shiseido discontinued their matte and long lasting lipsticks years ago.  They remind so much of them.  I think I know why too.  Shiseido owns NARS.  I am hooked and will definitely be buying more NARS lipsticks even though they are pretty pricey, but if you know me, you'll know that I am a lipstick junkie.

Salma Hayek's Beauty Line: Nuance

Written by Hli

Salma Hayek will be launching a beauty line called Nuance in August of next year which will be sold exclusively at CVS/pharmacy.  Here is what Drug Store News says about this new line:
"The collection, inspired by Hayek's grandmother, includes skin care, cosmetics and hair care products.  The products will be priced between $7.99 and $19.99."
I've always liked everything about Salma Hayek so I'll definitely be trying her line out.

You're In Luck! BB Creams Are Now at Sephora

Written by Hli

Sephora is now selling BB creams.  If you have been wanting to try BB creams but didn't trust buying from eBay or from Asia then you are now in luck!

I have not tried any of the ones Sephora has but I have tried the following:

1. BB Magic Cream by Etude House - Like this one a lot.  It's creamy and has a nice scent.  Some BB creams are pasty but this one really blends in.

2. Water Drop BB by Lioele - I also really liked this one.  It goes on wet but dries into a matte finish.  I had done a review on this one awhile ago.

3. Premium Gold Mineral BB by Elisha Coy - This one was a bit pasty and drying.  I liked the scent though.

4. Perfect Cover BB Cream by Missha - I ordered this one in #23.  It's supposed to be medium but was still a little light on me.  I've used this with the BB Boomer Brightening moisturizer and it works better than wearing the Perfect Cover BB alone.

I think I'll have to give the Sephora ones a try.

BTW, I just ordered a few things from Bobbi Brown and hope to review once they come in.

Essence Mini Haul from Ulta

Written by Hli

I was at Ulta earlier this week and saw this inexpensive makeup line.  The items I bought were $1.99 each except for the eau de toilet, which was $9.  The lipglosses are sheer with a slight hint of color and perfect for the summer.  The nailpolish colors are awesome and the eau de toilet smells clean and flowery but not overwhelming. It's an unbelievably great price for such a great scent!
